Saving Money at Ocado

Have a delivery coming tomorrow and savings over £16. No other supermarket gives me anywhere near that amount. Am I just lucky, or is Ocado putting more offers on ?

What's the most that you have saved at Ocado, or any other supermarket ?

I think the 'savings' can be misleading.  Shops offer big discounts on items that not many people are buying.  Why?  Because they're vastly overprices to begin with.
I've shopped with Ocado for years, then I switched to Sainsbury's and recently I've switched to Asda.  Whilst the 'savings' each month look small on the receipts, my grocery bills are a lot cheaper now than they used to be with Ocado.

It’s the way their receipts work against other supermarkets

So if you purchased a £4 item discounted to £2 at Asda, it just shows as £2 on the receipt with no savings but Ocado shows it as £2 with a £2 saving.

Iceland shows the total savings as 'promotional discount' but often doesn't show individual offers on the receipt, just multibuys.

Hi all Ocado shoppers, just a quick heads up: check your receipts carefully!! I have just checked my receipt and two separate multi/buy offers had not been honoured, causing me to pay over £10 too much!

This is basic computing from Ocado’s side and it sickens me to think that this is possibly happening to several customers, repeatedly…

It happens at all supermarkets on occasions. Receipts should always be checked. X

Bit of a thread bump, but do you happen to know (or could point me at something) that clarifies the t&cs for Iceland online multibuys? If there is an out of stock item when (for example) you put together one of their 6 for £10 mix & match type offers, do you just get refunded that item and everything else goes through with no adjustment?

I haven't shopped with them much because this puts me off, if you go to the fiddle of making up your 6 items and end up paying full price for the 5 that would be a big big difference - but I can't see how they could very well adjust it unless they do some sort of split discount between remaining items? Thanks if anyone knows, I couldn't find anything in their own help pages.
