I'd love a recipe for this too as I keep cheating and using a jar of sauce.

  • Should you reheat cooked meat in the slow cooker?

mmmm I made lovely turkey curry yesterday, I fried some curry spices and madras curry powder, and a bit of garlic and cumin powder, added a chopped onion and 3 chopped carrotts, a pint of stock bunged it in the oven for an hour, then took it out and added chopped cooked cold turkey, continued to cook on the hob until the turkey was hot throughout and thats it!

It was yummy, almost made me wish I had more leftover turkey

As long as the meat comes to the correct temperature then any cooking method should be fine. My slow cooker has a high setting which is great for that. One thing I will say is if you do make it from reheated left overs, would not be best advice to freeze and reheat again, best to seperate the turkey into batches and freeze then bring out to do a curry with.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • This is a really mild turkey curry that my hubbie loves.... fry off 2 onions until golden, add 2 tins of chopped tomatoes , 2tsp of mild curry powder, 2 tsp of garam masala, 1/2 tsp of tumeric and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon along with juice of half a lime, add more chicken stock if curry becomes too dry and ave to simmer for an hour on a low heat, add meat and heat through and serve on a crispy jacket potato....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm - i always divide curry beteen 2 pans and add extra chilli to mine....

  • Made mine yesterday too - found putting in some fruit really zapped it up (its better today than yesterday) I added pineapple, sultanas, and some dried apricots - back to the 70's and those Vesta curries; but it seemed good with turkey. Best wishes
