Different point but if you getting ~£100k lump sum from Classic was taking £12,000 from Alpha worthile?

Not germane to the issue of the poor service from the Administrator....and if the delay continues, a good thing that the OP  took it as it enables the payment of his bills.....?

As expected, despite being told when I rang them on the 28th May that I would get my full pension and classic lump sum on the 30th all I got today was the much smaller Alpha part.

So, it was a fantastic idea for me to commute some of the Alpha to a lump sum as without that I would not have enough money to cover even my basic bills let alone enjoy my first months of retirement.

Of course, as I haven't got my lump sum I will now be short on the interest which is a substantial sum per month so every day costs me money in interest and means I have to go into savings, reducing the interest I get from that too, to be able to survive. Plans for a holiday have to be put on hold, work on the house will stop.

Sorry for the rant but I am extremely stressed about all this, I had heart problems last year which formed part of my decision to retire early as I was told stress was a major factor - I can't think of a single time at work when I have been as stressed as I am now, with seemingly no end in sight...

Update - Lump sum & first monthly arrears payment received on the same day. Lump sum 5 1/2 weeks overdue, monthly payment 1 1/2 weeks overdue.
I don't believe that even that would have happened without my calling them numerous times asking why things hadn't been actioned.

Great news, and to make it even better it looks like today was the day they sorted all of us poor saps out as I got mine too!

It looks like it is finally sorted but what I still find hard to believe is the total lack of communication - I feel sorry for the people on the phones as it seems they are not in any position to actually give anyone any info yet they are the only ones we seem able to actually speak to, despite many attempts I never got past that first hurdle, although to be fair it did seem they 'escalated' stuff when asked to do so, it was just those they escalated it too that never seemed interested in communicating with me.

Anyway, let's hope it is all sorted now, there will be no more problems and we can finally start to enjoy retirement!
