I signed up to a dating site but did not use it. Not even once. I forgot to cancel the free month's subscription....
They are chasing me for £308.....I posted on this forum before and everyone agreed no need to pay it
I have just received a specialist lawyers letter demand......they will take "judicial enforcement measures and further costs etc"
Should I now pay this or just ignore it?

Same as before, these letters are designed to get you to pay them, doesn't matter who the letter comes from lawyer/Doctor/Dentist whoever, none of them can force you to pay.
Theoretically they would have to sell this debt to a UK based debt purchasing company, who would then chase you for the money as they would be able to take action through the UK courts if necessary.
Now, none of the above is going to happen, I don`t know of a single debt purchaser who buys foreign debts to enforce in the UK, not one, and as you are not based in Luxemburg they can`t take action through their own legal system.
I would not worry about it, stick to English dating agencies in future lol.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Are you saying that if someone purchases goods/services from abroad, they can be pursued for money owed?sourcrates said:Same as before, these letters are designed to get you to pay them, doesn't matter who the letter comes from lawyer/Doctor/Dentist whoever, none of them can force you to pay.

Did you give the dating site your details, which they can now use to chase you? I would only give my address details if it was needed eg. for card payment. But if this was the case here, surely the site would have debited any fees directly from your card.0 -
Perhaps also don't sign up for dating sites (or any service) you don't intend to use.0

You've just got a letter on fancier paper, I suspect.
Is the address they are writing from still Luxembourg?0 -
