Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope the little Bee is safe and well.
Damp and murky this morning but not as cold as yesterday. Last night there was a mini storm - high winds and driving rain, at least it's calmer today.
Your DD gets around the world dp1 - I'll be interested to hear how she finds Vietnam, I'm going at the end of June for 3 weeks!
Some of my seeds failed to germinate too SO, I resorted to buying some courgette plants at the nursery on Sunday. I do seem to have far too many tomato plants, they seem to have done well.
Hope you're feeling better today Izzy and the WM arrived.
How are the specs TA?
Sounds like you had a good rest Snoozer.
Hope Rob recovers soon Ruby.
I need to call at the library on the way home from work today but apart from that not a lot going on.
Take care. XX10 -
Yesterday was such a miserable wet day, and cold too though my exercise class certainly warmed me up! I took away a bag of recycling as there's a big blue dumpster at the village hall. In the afternoon I made a pot of veggie soup, a weird mixture of one leek, one carrot, half a cauliflower and lentils. The veggies were on the cusp of becoming bendy and soft so soup it was. This morning I'm invigilating again, no idea what yet, I've charged up the ear buds ready for it. I'll prep lunch beforehand. Later it'll be time to get new monthly banking worksheet ready. In April I've also been recording my spending and it's quite revealing and shocking. Must be more thoughtful about what I'm buying in May and exercise a bit of control!
I hope that everyone is doing well.10 -
Morning allLooks like it's going to be a lovely day here with blue sky at the moment. Today I've got a couple of bags to go to a different charity shop, then off for a walk round our local park and see if I can spot any fluffy chicks on the lake. Got to pop in the supermarket on the way back for a few bits and then carry on with sorting our neglected garden. Got more than I expected done yesterday even though my dodgy knees only let me enjoy it for about 45 minutes at a time (I know how you feel TA) !Hope everyone has a good day x11

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I am not gloating honestly but we have a beautiful start here and it's set to reach the dizzy heights of 19 deg later with intermittent sun and cloud! Of course the ever present niggly breeze is set to remain says the local weatherman.
I am determined I will make the best of the weather and finally make a start on the front garden this morning - it will be the usual stop/start affair. Unfortunately I have the blooming Covid jab this afternoon so won't be able to spend all day at it. I could do with TAFF visiting!
Last night' shopping trip with DS started with a detour to the house of doom so he could show me what he had done and what's still to do. The upstairs decorating is almost finished other than new carpets to lay in 2 of the bedrooms. The 3rd will survive with a good clean. And for some reason they appear to have taken some pipe work with them from the bathroom, so the shower doesn't work! DD's ex OH is wanting somewhere to rent as his second relationship has broken down so he had a look at the w/e He is happy to wait until the end of May when hopefully it will be habitable.
CAMELOT my bus buddy and her DH went to Vietnam a few years ago and absolutely loved it. SNOOZER my DF has also recommended Le Bistro as she went recently with family so thanks for seconding her opinion. Oh and my new specs are perfect so I shouldn't be back and forth for adjustment unlike my previous ones.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all and stay safe xx

Good morning all
No rain, no sun, but at least the chilly wind has disappeared……not sure were due the tropical temps of TA but it is supposed to be slightly warmer!Work again, will drop off the campervan for its MOT on the way and hopefully that’ll be the end of the expensive April with servicing, insurance, tax , memberships etc!Little dog can have a longer walk today after resting a sore leg - not sure he’s 100% but maybe I’m being overly protective.Take care

Morning everyone well no rain up to now supposed to be a bit warmer but that pesky wind is still blowing I’m off to do a cleaning job in a minute I’ve got a load on the line and another to go out in a minute the new WM is great so quiet but my old one was on its way out for a long time . Pain in my face isn’t as bad to day I got some more antibiotics so hopefully this week the swelling will go down I wasn’t impressed with the doctor I’ve seen the same one twice the first time I went she seemed as if she was sniggering all the time but I just thought she was odd but when I went yesterday she was laughing in my face and she kept saying I know I shouldn’t but you just look so funny with that lump so I said to her it’s really painful and sore she said I bet it is but you look so comical maybe it was just the way I was feeling I’ve lost my sense of humor a bit anyway let’s hope this second lot of antibiotics shifts it . We are having a bit of all sorts tonight I’ve got a lot of odds and sods in the fridge needs using up and I can’t be bothered to think I will crack on and hopefully come back a bit more cheerful tomorrow I’m sick of hearing myself moan so you all don’t need to hear it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all
Bright and sunny here again that’s two days is a row ! Unfortunately it’s back to rain tomorrow and the rest of the week 🙄
Two people coming today and they want to go for a walk as the weather is nice will go to some local woods where there is a cafe in the car park so we can have a cup of tea after. No Rob today and I will ring his mum later and see if he is better for tomorrow.
I’ve got some chicken out for dinner I will do it in some kind of sauce with some roasted veg cous cous, dd is on a late shift so only OH and I here for dinner.
I bought some plants yesterday at the GC so at the weekend I must pressure wash the patio and get them planted up I still need a few bedding plants but will go to the cheaper local GC for them, I must say I am itching to get our there but the weather has stopped me so far.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all. Bright and sunny here but I can see from the cars it was cold overnight.
DD and the 6 month old are coming over this morning so we'll probably walk into town as I have a few bits to do there. Might get some sausages from the butcher for tonight to have with mash.
I had some books, mainly textbooks, that DS had left with me to get rid of ages ago, so yesterday I tried the Ziffit app to move them on. Whilst it was very straightforward to use (you just type in the ISBN number) they give you very little money for them and some things are rejected. I managed to get to their minimum 10 items by adding some of our own books and a dvd but then had to hunt around for a box to package them and take them to a local locker facility. I'm fully expecting one book to be rejected for a mark on the back cover so will wait and see what happens. All in all an experience but not sure I'd do it again. They also seem to be the 2nd hand arm of World of Books, which is fair enough.
Hope everyone's day goes well.10 -
Morning all.
Dull here but dry - rain possible pm.
I want to work on shortening my friend's net curtains - very difficult to unpick the two rows of stitching on the top casing.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 4,177 June - 1962/36

We have greek weather today ,sunny and windy. o far anyway, Might be time to do some washing [insert sad smiley] Got a builder coming round today to see and talk about what we want, then I have a foot appointment this afternoon to see how the injection went [ verdict, fabulous for three weeks, niggly on and off after that, painful the last two weeks] Best get myself another stick [ I have a couple, but the're for the left hand, I need one for the right hand]Izzy, nto it's not you, it's her, that's really insensivitve and rude, does she laugh when people go in with something else she finds funny? Stupid woman. I'd complain to her next time, see if she stops. If not, [I'm drawing my finger slowly across my throat....bit too far? ] I wouldn't worry about moaning, it's only if you do it constantly, and you're far from that! TA, huzzah, you have good weather! ish...long may it last! Florence, if you're shortening, don't bother unpicking, turn it over, sew, cut, turn it over again, sew, there's your new edge. Unless they're lined or something. Allie, hope your dd gets better soon! Ruby, hope Rob is back soon...Gers, if I insepcted my purchases there's be a lot of cookery books and a lot fo seeds, it's just that time of year when purchases lift the mood don't worry...camelot, I've only just sowed mine at the weekend, there's plenty of time yet..Take care all, hope the weather is good for you!Shampoo?
