NDR for Holiday let

Options
Hi,

We currently pay a council tax premium on our second property which is a holiday let. Do we have to meet holiday let conditions for a year before we can claim business rates?

Thanks

Hi, are you in England? England does not (yet) have a premium for furnished properties that are no ones main residence so you should tell your council as presumably as a holiday let it is furnished! To be eligible for ndr, since 1st April 2023 it needs to have been available for 140 days and have been actually let for 70 days. This is detailed on the gov.uk website. You can notify the voa of the change of use using the council tax band challenge service or use the form of return for holiday lets which are both available at gov.uk.
