Default
Hello, I have a default on my credit file from Cabot financial. It's from a old Likely Loans account. It was my top up loan from May 2018
I missed my first payment on Oct 2018 and I didn't pay for 6 months so it defaulted (long story). Cabot Financial took over the account and it went into default on April 2019.
On my credit file it states the default starts in April 2019 but I thought the default date starts from when you miss your first payment which would then be Oct 2018, or am I wrong.

They are supposed to register a default after 3-6 missed payments so they are just about within the guidance0

The guidance is 2-3 missed contractual payments, but it is just guidance, their policy might be to help a customer catch up before defaulting (or to delay doing it to keep the debt on record as long as possible!)fatbelly said:They are supposed to register a default after 3-6 missed payments so they are just about within the guidanceSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
