Morning. Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.Despite the lovely weather yesterday my day was rather bleak. Beautiful eggs are abandoned, that's my fault. Grass didn't get cut, I think that the battery charger is broken so no juice to mower, had to order a new one. I bought a new battery last year so it's not that. Physio has referred me for an MRI but it'll probably take two months to come through. And I've been sneezing a lot, must be the start of hay fever season already. On the upside I won £3.10 on the lottery and the proper butcher had proper belly pork - the stuff from last week was a real disappointment. I'll roast it today to have with my soup. That'll cheer me up. 😀
The morning is very chilly again though I was so over hot during the night, I pulled off the extra blanket I've been using all winter. Now it's only 2° outside with only a promise of double figures later. I may well finish off pulling down the dead clematis. 😰11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another fine day in store for us but, like yesterday, it's not going to be warm. Yesterday the nithering wind was back. I think we are going to be in winter clothes all summer.
My DF duly confirmed she was ok for lunch yesterday so we had a good catch up and a nice meal as planned. Her DH was in a slightly better frame of mind for a change so she was confident in leaving the new foster dog in his care too.
Today is bus trip day - I don't know why I don't call it Skipton day as we always end up there! We have had a different place recommended for lunch so may try there for a change. Hopefully the market will be in force so a good browse there first. Sadly the bus trips seem to have resumed making everywhere busier. Good for the traders but not us regulars!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning again, is your hay fever starting already Gers, sorry to hear that. My dgd suffers as well, and last year was the worst she'd ever had, I felt so sorry for her.
Hope you have a good day TA, it's good to see friends
We once stayed near Skipton, I thought it was a nice place.
Nothing of note happening here, except a bit of tidying.
Hope everyone has a good day though, take care folks.12 -
Morning all
Its dull and overcast here and looks very bleak out there 😩 last night I was so cold in bed it was like winter I could not get warm at all I ended up turning the electric blanket on for a while which worked a treat.
Off to collect Rob today and take him to his work we are going to a plant sale today in a village hall which Rob will love he really enjoys helping people. We walked almost 4 miles yesterday through the bluebell woods the sight and smell of them was amazing we stopped in a cafe for refreshments and I succumbed to a piece of cherry bakewell which is my favourite cake ever ! I only managed half and bought the rest home and my dd ate it.
Dinner tonight will be gnocchi with salad and garlic bread nice quick meal a few weeks ago I made a load of garlic butter up and froze it in portions it comes in so handy when making garlic bread or a garlic based pasta etc.
Gers what a shame that the birds never came back but that’s nature I suppose xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all
Thanks for all your tips and commiserations re my loss of smell/taste - texture is definitely the way to go! I’m sad that I’ve lost the joy of cooking because if it at the moment, hoping it returns soon.Today is haircut day - I’m never 100% happy with my hair but it definitely needs a cut!:
Sun is due later so a walk by the river is in order as no work today!AA11 -
Morning all. Bright and sunny outside but I bet it's cold.
Yesterday's funeral was fine; her husband sang a song about them he'd written many years ago, although he had trouble tuning his guitar. Later in the evening a friend who had been there messaged to say her chest infection was actually Covid, so now we all wait and see if anyone else comes down with it. There is a big Celebration of Life party this Saturday. I'm playing for some of the dancing so there's an extra rehearsal for that tonight.
Whilst I was doing that DH and his Morris side were involved in a Wellness Day for staff at one of the prisons, about an hour's drive from us. They were given instructions on what not to take with them. Some of the staff joined in with the dancing and then they were cooked a lovely curry as a late lunch.
In a minute I'm off to help at the Larder so hope everyone's day goes to plan.

Morning all! horribly grey but when was that going to stop me doing somehting? Ok, it did the day before yesterday but not today! Nipping to tesco in a minute ot get fresh crusty bread, a friend is coming round so I'm doing her a Greek salad, giant beans [ a la Lidl] and some crusty bread but I'm out of bread and green peppers. I helped to split the water lillies and came away with a bucketful of stuff, which needs to grow up a bit before I plonk carefully plant it somewhere. I also moved my trachelospermum, it wasn't happy, so now it's adorning my dead bay tree. I intend to tidy up verges later on, along with a spot of seed sowing...and maybe some pruning. This week is mostly gardening week..WL, oh dear, fingers crossed for virus free living. Glad the funeral went well. Gers, what a shame, but don't feel too bad, sometimes it just happens, or maybe they're just rally good at staying out of sight and hiding from you. Also fingers crossed for undisappointing pork belly! Ruby, you paint a lovely picture of bluebell woods. Allie, no work deserves a party!
Take care all, and why not just have a party anyway, bring in summer with a splash!

@TA - I always liked to go to Skipton for work, it's a lovely place.@Scarlet - I don't have a cold and can't feel one brewing, just a lot of sneezing going on. I'll hunt out the anti-h to see if that helps.@Ruby - the bluebells are just starting to blossom here. My garden has them almost out though the beautiful bluebell wood comes out a bit later. They are so delightful. You're right about nature though I still feel very guilty. If nature had been left to it the birds would sitting on their beautiful eggs.@Allie - I hope that your taste and smell come back soon. Fingers crossed for you.@WL - scary to think that Covid is still roaming around. I hope that you haven't caught it.The last hour has been spent trying to track down a item I bought on 14 April, finally found that Yodel had sent it the the Orkney and Shetland depot. That is about 400 miles from me! Just rubbish service. Anyway, they are doing a 'search' for it and will come back to me. Grrr.Sunshine is creeping out but I'm keeping my front door closed. The farmer is having new wire fencing installed so lots of pile driving of the wooden posts. Mind you, it's about time as the very old drystone walls have been decrepit for many years. Sheep regularly escape and once a bull got out and strolled past my open front door.
Sheep always go back, cows don't.

Morning everyone
Cold here this morning - the thermostat was reading 13 degrees when I came downstairs so I've put the heating on for half an hour. Yesterday the sun came out in the afternoon so I did some pottering outside when I got home from work.
I have to go down to mam and dads this morning as the Speech Therapist is coming to see dad about his choking/swallowing. Then I'll go for some shopping. I've little one to collect from school later, DD is making my tea so I'll maybes take her back along to play on the yard on her bike. I might go down a bit earlier and do some weeding in their front garden, the grass was cut yesterday so it's looking a lot better.
I've done an econsult this morning to try to get a doctors appointment. I've a rash on my tummy I've had for about 3 weeks now - it's so itchy I could scream! I tried last week to see a doctor and was told to go to the pharmacist, but the anti histamine they suggested hasn't worked. Fingers crossed - it's so difficult to get an appointment here.
Right best get on. Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Hi everyone,
A very quick one from me because we're off to MK this morning, partly to get out of any childcare I might get sucked into. Esben has tonsillitis so he has been off school the last three days so I had both of them yesterday and I'm tired. I've also hurt my right forearm so lifting Esther is very difficult.
TA we're up to Yorkshire tomorrow night after our stint looking after Nate, I'm hoping the weather will warm up.
Gers, what a shame but at least it's still early enough for them to start again.
Have a good day.12
