Aviva reconnect letter

Afternoon.
I’ve also received a letter from Aviva. It isn’t a scam but my concern is that I might end up owing money if I follow it up!  Has anyone experienced this ?

Aviva is not a lender of unsecured debt.

I'm not sure what your letter said, but my (and my wife's letter) specifically said that they were getting in touch regarding a policy asset. Have you had the same wording?

The mystery has been solved. The 'lost' policy was related to a flat we bought in 1984 and sold two years later. The endowment (which had stopped paying in 1986, when we sold the flat, matured in 2009. 

It ended up being worth slightly less than £200. Not much but it's always good to get any unexpected money!
