Sick leave whilst employed and self employed

I work FT in the NHS but have fractured my ankle and currently signed off work for 4 weeks. I work an hour away from home so have no way to get there so best option is to be signed off (working from home is an option but not comfortable sitting at a desk for 8 hours so don’t plan to do it).
However I do self employed private work also. It’s related to my NHS role but it’s very minimal - like 5 to 10 mins work each week, sometime not even that! Where do I stand legally? Can i continue this private self employed work or should i let the companies know i cant work currently either? I’m struggling to find out if i can do this or not.

Under some circumstances yes (in theory at least) although your full time employer may look at it with some suspicion.kellyp said:I work FT in the NHS but have fractured my ankle and currently signed off work for 4 weeks. It is perfectly possible to be off sick from one type of work but able to do another. Suppose you had both a manual job and a clerical one. A physical injury my prevent you from doing manual work whilst you were still able to do the clerical role. What you describe is not so clear cut.
