Can't find a 'pensions' category on this site so have had to post under savings and investments,

This is NOT the government scheme but a private  company that has contacted me and, on the face of it, given some solid basic advice. Has anyone used them? Are they legitimate? I've checked on Trust Pilot and there are only 7 reviews, all bad. Can't find any on Google. Does anyone know anything about this company?

There are multiple companies offering to trace pensions, but you can do it yourself with the Govt scheme.  Although on this forum people do often ask for help where the passage of time/takeovers etc makes this more of a sleuthing job than in other cases.

This ‘service’ appears to be a company of financial advisers, who may not charge, but will try to upsell you management of the pension pots they find and recover their fees/fancy website costs that way. Other services are pension companies in their own right, e.g. Aviva but aren’t going to give you independent advice.

Do you need the service? It’s a good idea to know where your pensions are but you could try DIY and then ask here if you get stuck.
