My mother in law for whom I am LPA, has Alzheimers. He has repeatedly told me that she has money in an account "in London" but has no more information than that. There is nothing in her paperwork referring to this but she has mentioned it on a number of separate occasions. I have tried my lost account but it needs more information than I have any ideas?

You could do a scatter shot approach and check every major bank including some that have been swallowed up by others. There is a possibility that your MIL never had any money in an account, but just believed she did. Or she did have such an account but closed it many years agoIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
