topcashback & ebay

I am new to topcashback and trying to figure out how it is supposed to work, say, with eBay. I installed opera browser for this purpose and created an account with topcashback. However, my purchases are not tracking, so I am clearly doing something wrong. After winning an item on an auction and I went via topcashback to and made payment. Topcashback says that I spent £0, while I spent more or less £200...

It’s showing at zero then it has tracked because if it hadn’t tracked at all no transaction would be showing.

Sometimes it shows zero when the transaction first goes through and then updates - For example The TCB eBay page does say it may track at a lower rate until confirmed by the merchant. Have you checked all the requirements to make sure they have been met?

How long has it been since you bought the item?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Cookies must be enabled.

    1. Log into your TCB account

    2. Select eBay as the retailer, check all of the TERMS and EXCLUSIONS carefully, especially regarding auction items.

    3. On that page select the big red GET 1% CASHBACK button and eBay will open in another window/tab.

(You can check if that tracked by going to Earnings > Navigation > Clicks to merchants in the still open TCB window/tab)

    4. Complete your transaction fully on the Ebay site, there is no need to go back to the TCB page.

Once complete the transaction should track on the TCB within a day or two.

You can also report missing transactions after a certain amount of time.

You may well find that yours is updated to the correct amount by the time you’re able to do this anyway.

I think the OP is clear that this doesn't work. But why? and how to avoid this problem?

Just follow the instructions I posted.

Open TCB, click through to retailer using the GET XX% CASHBACK button, complete the purchase on the retailer site without going anywhere else.

Take screenshots all along the way.

That's all you need to do.

If the purchase does not appear on the TCB site hours/days/weeks later (TCB often indicate how long that should be) file a claim for missing cashback within the required timescale, also in the TCB terms.

@Ayr_Rage I thought this is exactly what I did. The item was won on an auction the day before. I then went to topcashback, clicked ebay - get cashback button, then went to purchase history and made the payment... :(

I have never bought auction items however doing the transactions over two days is where it has likely failed.

Others who have used TCB and eBay auctions may have further information.

I think I have figured it out. Doing transactions over two days doesn't appear to be relevant. However, for auction items the winning bid has to be put after going via topcashback and for buy-it-now items the purchase has to be made after going via topcashback. It doesn't matter which device/browser is used for paying. It doesn't matter whether the payment is made at the same time/on the same day or not.
