Salary Sacrifice

I am 62, so thinking about cutting tax via Salary Sacrifice. Is it worth it for a 20% taxpayer, I earn around £18k
Can I just pay most of my pay into a pension, I work for a local authority, are they helpful to us poor folk or do they just look after the top earners?
I pay £100 per month into a SIPP, which has a value of £29k
We can get cars via salary sacrifice, so is SS a no-brainer for as much as you can do?

You are not able to SS below NMW.
What hours do you work associated with the £18k annual income?

If you are not able to SS, you can make pension contributions from your income after tax (and NI).
