PRA - Statute barred

Good morning, I have made a bit of a mistake but hopefully not one which is going to cost me. I am currently in a DMP and have a Barclaycard account which is with PRA and receives a payment every month. PRA also have a QuickQuid account which I haven't acknowledged in well over 6 years. I received a phone call yesterday regarding this account where they confirmed the account was opened in 2011. I immediately informed the agent the account was statute barred and I would not be discussing it any further.
My issue is last week I received an email from PRA offering me a discount, stupidly I didn't read the email properly and just assumed this was relating to me Barclaycard account. I sent them a counter offer which they accepted a few days later. After the phonecall yesterday I checked the email properly and it was relating to an account with "CashEuroNet" otherwise known as QuickQuid. I will be honest I buried my head in the sand with a few pay day loans taken out around this time. I changed banks so they couldn't take any payment, obviously this led to defaults etc. I have never acknowledged any correspondence or made payment towards this account and it is doesn't show on my credit file. Should I send PRA another email detailing the above getting the accounts mixed up and that I won't be making any payment or will the phone conversation yesterday be enough? I am now worried that me sending a counter offer will "wipe out" the statute barred element of this account?

Did you inform them in writing that you were aware of the money being owed? If it was by phone I do believe that means the statute barred status still applies.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. "Section 29 (7) – a barred claim cannot be revived by later acknowledgment or payment
Once a right of action is barred under the Act, it cannot be revived by any subsequent acknowledgment or payment".

Thanks for the clarification. As I have told the agent on the phone it is statute barred I won't bother to contact them via email to say the same thing, I will wait and see if they contact me again0
