It has been suggested by my SJP adviser / salesperson that an LPT might be benficial for futur tax avoidance and care charges in the future.

Anyone had experience of these or other trusts? I am particurlalry interested in any pitfalls I should be aware of or questions to ask.

I am not 100% convinced by the conversations I have had so far so I am loathed to do more with SJP and sit it out til I can get out with minimal cost

Why would you want to put yourself in the position, if you ever needed care, of having little choice on what care home you end up in and having to wait until you were decrepit enough to get past an increasingly cash strapped LA financial panel?  Believe me you don’t want to go there.

You should also check out deliberate deprivation of assets.

Thanks for the reply. My feelings exactly - I am loathed to go anywahere near him with a bargepole. Just curious as to what he would say. My recent experience with him is somewhat shady to say the least. I am always suspicious when someone tells me there is no cost to me
