Morning all
Another chilly morning here in Kent. Hopefully those winds will have eased today. No plans today, as yet, apart from going for a walk around the lake with a podcast for company. Hopefully might get out into the garden later if the weather keeps calm. Salmon for dinner tonight.
Have a good day all x

Morning All
Great weather yesterday but still with a cold wind, it didn't rain until about 6pm. Dry this morning for now, hope it stays that way as I'm going to work on the bus - petrol prices are really starting to creep up now so I'm trying to save some pennies.
Thanks -taff, it's certainly something I'm looking at, not sure if the small one is too small or the next size up too big!
I had a smear test yesterday, seems that it's the last as it's every 5 years now and finishes at aged 64. I was lucky to get an appointment so quickly.
Hope you're all well, take care. XX12 -
Thanks for the start Chrisca
I think I missed posting yesterday - early work start and then it was non-stop all day.
Slightly easier today - quick coffee with an ex colleague before a short work session followed by a trip to the fabric shop (definitely the highlight of the week)…….there will be purchases!Camelot - I think it’s 64 here in England too and something I need to book though I did book a mammogram yesterday - was due last year but with DMs diagnosis and cancer treatment I couldn’t face it, ironic really! However they got me in next Monday before the local one closes for a refurb. One step at a time!!
happy middle of the week all

Morning all. Bright and sunny here at the moment but I'm sure it's cold out.
Had a busy day with DD yesterday and I've ended up looking after DGS tomorrow so she can do a KIT day for work. Luckily she works from home so it shouldn't be too bad but I'll have to be careful as this is what did my back in about 3 weeks ago.
Today I'm off to help at the Larder. We didn't open last week so it seems like ages since I was there. I still have two piles of ironing to get through so might have to start that this afternoon.
@Coxy11 I could hardly believe that photo! I'd have definitely found another routeAnd I'm guessing they weren't waterproof trousers?! We're walking with friends again on Friday but definitely not like that! Has DH found a job yet?
Happy Wednesday everyone.

Morning folks and thanks CHRISCA. Remind me what date it is! Woke up to find the frost was back with us this morning. Fortunately the sun came up and the frost soon disappeared but by heck it's still cold out there.
The wind looks to have dropped for now so I am planning, once the sun gets round the back, on going out to see what's what with the plants (all in pots) out there. Despite being mostly perennials it looks as though a few haven't made it through the winter so need disposing of. Why doesn't winter kill all the weeds off too - I have yet to start on all those in the front.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all and stay safe xx

Hi everyone,
No childcare today which is a relief although my day with Esther was lovely yesterday and Monday with Esben. Tomorrow is our first Nate day so fingers crossed it goes ok. We're supposed to be alternating weeks with his other grandma but she isn't well enough so we'll be doing every week at least untill the summer.
I would like to do a bit of sewing today but we'll see how it goes.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning everyone
Just been out to the bin - it's really cold but the sun is meant to come out so hopefully it will warm up a bit. I'd like to do some tidying in the garden, just like you TA I have some plants that haven't survived the winter.
Little one asked a good question at the weekend 'who decides which plants are weeds and which are flowers?' as she was picking a bunch of dandelions. I had to admit I had no idea!
My mam and dad spent a day at hospital yesterday - dad wasn't right and the morning carer thought he might have had another stroke so they were away in an ambulance again. He had a brain scan and he hadn't so they got back home again. I'll go down this morning, and see how he is.
I picked little one up from school yesterday as DD had an appointment. It was lovely and sunny so I took her back along to ride her bike on the yard. She's really good on it now, I think because she's no longer scared she's going to fall off. There were a few mums still there with their kids after school, so she was loving everyone saying how good it was she's just 5 and can ride her bike without stabilisers.
I spent hours there with her mummy on her bike when she was the same age.
I better get on Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning everyone and thanks for starting us off Chrisca50
The sun is out and it looks like being a lovely day here.
I am going to see some friends this afternoon. Hope you all have a good day. xx10 -
Morning! It's been raining and sunny so far this morning, who knows what the rest of the day will bring? Not sure what's on the menu today, i did some admin yesterday and have a pile of shredding, made myself doenjang jjigae last night so there's that for me later. Costco tomorrow with OHs mum [ purse strings very tightly shut hopefully, except for diesel]. Did some weeding along the side of the house yesterday so a brush up today to tidy that up and I may go and get some more spent compost. I am fancying another raised bed...OH has asked for flowers and I'm not putting them in any of my veg beds so I suppose my arm could be twisted
oh no, another garden centre visit....
[ it doesn't count if I spend in a garden centre, honest...]
Gers, well done for pushing on with the harder stuff. Coxy, well done for pushing on regardless, maybe waders next time though if it's raining when you start again...camelot, also forgot to say if you get one, site it high enough that you can get something under the tap outlet to collect the liquid if you want to use it. Whatever you put in it will just squish down so it depends on how much waste you have from your kitchen and garden. whatever you have needs to be quite small, think potato peeling etc, so things like a whole tomato plant or potato haulms will have to be chopped up. Allie , not ironic really, for years, every time I heard something about cancer I mentally switched off, wouldn't watch anything with it in it, if you see what I mean, it's understandable. But well done for going anywaysnoozer, you're not getitng much rest are you? Have you been wicked?
dp1, glad it was a false alarm for your dad..WL, hope you avoid a bad back this time! Take care all, it's changeable out there....

I ventured out back as I promised myself I would but I am back in having my elevenses and it's not yet ten! Despite the sun it's blooming freezing out there but I did manage to empty a few pots and fill 2 with violas and a Magnolia. It'll be a miracle if I'm around to see it grow into a tree but somebody might benefit! There's a gorgeous one in a garden by the bus stop and every Spring I admire it and tell myself I will have one day!
Hope it's a bit warmer where you are folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Hello all, it's a bit overcast here but colder again with showers due at any time. Yesterday the funeral went well with lots of family there and the weather was beautiful sunshine, Uncle would have loved that as he was a keen gardener. I met an old schoolmate from our grammar school days and another couple of old friends I hadn't seen for 30 years, so there was plenty of reminiscing. I came home to rest after it as I'd worn myself out with all the chatting !
I have my hospital appointment tomorrow morning to find out if they've been able to cut away all the cancer 🤞 and if I need further treatment or not. Tea tonight is undecided, something simple I think, I'll ask my chef 😁
Hugs to the poorly ones and anyone feeling stressed/ upset.
Take care all
