Will keep you all updated as you've been so helpfulGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Hi David,
You had any joy?, Rank have stopped answering my emails even though I sent them the evidence that looks like pension was transferred to an annuity of sorts. Royal London just gave me Santander Customer Service Number so no help there.
Frustrating beyond belief.

Latest on this - Rank are writing to Ombudsman themselves as they cannot locate this pension...can't use mail re-direct as need same surname on debit card but wife's maiden name, hoping previous address will pass any mail received on to me. So frustrating.1

Hi John, I had parked this for a bit but by chance I came across a letter from June 2006 about the winding up of the scheme. Not sure how that reached us because it was sent to the old address about 3 years after we moved but anyway it states that the default option if you didn't provide alternative instructions was a Section 32A policy with Zurich. Haven't contacted Zurich yet but feels like a promising lead.1

Hi David, so now an annuity, I contacted Zurich but they couldn't help me, hope you have more success. Rank are reporting themselves to ombudsman as they have no idea where my wife's pension is, hope they make us an offer...
Please let me know how you get on.0 -
Hi John, I reckon we've finally tracked it down. Zurich came back to us saying that they had transferred that part of their pension business to Scottish Widows. We contacted them by posting the form on their website and they confirmed they had a potential match. Apparently Zurich only gave them names and national insurance numbers so we're currently going through security checks and address confirmation but I think we're nearly there.1

S32 and Zurich were suggested back in April.....
