Regarding PoA. I don’t think so. She is completely with it,

That's the time to do it. If it gets to the stage that she isn't, it will be too late.  It can be set up but not activated until needed.

Regarding PoA. I don’t think so. She is completely with it, just head in the sand when it comes to money.

That is just the point - you put it in place when you are compos mentis just in case there comes a time when you want your Attorney (s) to take over your affairs or your mental state is such that needs must.

It can be used as soon as it’s registered, with your permission.

  • Yes. I appreciate that. Both my wife and I already have this in place. But it’s not the same as asking yer mum for control of her finances should she go barmy. She is youngest of seven. All going strong, oldest is 90.

Joking aside it is something that we may broach in future.

Regarding my brother buying us out. No chance. Unless his crypto skyrockets!

Have a look at the equity release link in my previous.

Do you think that your mother would be interested?

If not, and she won't sell up and downsize, she is just going to have to cut her coat according to her cloth?

I suppose that your brother and his partner are not in a position to obtain a mortgage to  buy into the property?

It could produce a lump sum to purchase an annuity?
