My wife and I have just checked our pay slips for this month, and I don't know why we have not noticed this before but we both have different tax codes and we don't understand why. Mine is the 1257L and my wife has 1263L which obviously means she has more allowance than me, but why would that be? Please could anyone advise?

Could be many thing. Best to check your Personal Tax account on the HMRC website.
