What's worth the investment?

Options
This is a bit of an open ended question, but my partner and I are in a place right now where we could put some money towards buying more expensive house/kitchen/garden items that are worth the investment and will last longer.

From your experience, what items have long outlasted your initial investment and you'd recommend purchasing?

Thanks!

After 19 years of marriage I can report that the sturdiest wedding gift was the Dualit toaster.  And I like being able to peek at the toast

Also Denby is good (didn't get it for our wedding as we were already using the Denby purchased by the previous generation!) but if I was buying Denby now I wouldn't buy new from a shop, I'd buy someone's unwanted wedding set - very common on marketplace etc.

Decent saucepans and cutlery. And things that bring you joy - whether it's the comfiest chair, a piece of art or a beautiful plant. Things that enhance your quality of life are always a good investment.

Kitchenaid mixer, chopper, toaster. Decent garden furniture (rattan), sofa, mattress, knives, saucepans, casserole dishes, crockery, cutlery  …… the list is endless and I always work on the mantra of buy cheap pay twice

Felco secateurs. Stainless steel, wooden handled garden tools. Though you still need to look after them.

What is wearing out or not pleasing you?  Little point replacing things you are happy with and are doing their job fine at present, but look at things that want buying and consider what sort to buy.

Sure, this will be a long term thing - I'm not about to go out and buy everything but having an idea of what's worth investing in is really handy for future purchases.
