Fidelity have a minimum charge of £90, unless you are a regular investor ( which you are not).
I believe we are able to pay into a pension until age 75, does this apply to non working people?Yes it does.
One question re regular investing, can I pay my yearly contribution of £2880 monthly or does it have to be paid in one go?0 -
LHW99 said:Just bear in mind that some platforms may need you to keep a minimum amount in, in order to keep the account open. eg I believe Hargreaves Lansdown wants a minimum £1k left in, but won't charge a fee if everything is in cash - but please check that my understanding is right.
I think the previous suggestion from yourself will work best for me, nice and straight forward 😊0 -

After a little more research I find that Standard Life according to many Trust pilot reviews is not great with customer service/satisfaction.
Can anyone recommend a brand where I place the money in and it is managed for me.
No desire to choose my own portfolio, in my younger days definitely but now my brain is not always my friend.
I like well known/established companies if at all possible, although I can be open minded.
I’m aware of Hargreaves Lansdown but not looking for a Sipp just a great company with low charges. No hassle, easy policy and good communication when required.
Am I being realistic?
Thanks for your kind assistance 😊0 -

The Abrdn Standard Life or the Phoenix Standard Life?
Standard Life have a load of legacy contracts going back generations. Many consumers seem to believe that aCan anyone recommend a brand where I place the money in and it is managed for me.providers do what you or your adviser tell them to do. If you don't have an adviser, then you have to tell the provider what to do.No desire to choose my own portfolio, in my younger days definitely but now my brain is not always my friend.Just select a multi-asset fund that matches your risk profile.I’m aware of Hargreaves Lansdown but not looking for a Sipp just a great company with low charges.SIPPs can offer the lowest charges and the highest charges.I like well known/established companies if at all possible, although I can be open minded. The reality is that in the DIY world, you probably haven't heard of most of the companies because you haven't gone DIY before. The companies you are likely to know are intermediary companies but they tend not to be that good with DIY investors.

No desire to choose my own portfolio,The pension provider will not manage your pension for you . They provide the framework, but either you or your financial advisor ( if you have one of course) have to manage the pension and choose the investment(s)
However there are many simple low cost investment funds nowadays. Once you have chosen one then you do not really have to do much else. Some of the providers will guide you to one of these funds, but they will never actually recommend one.
For these amounts of money you are probably best with Hargreaves Lansdown. The higher charges will be peanuts in cash terms and they are good with customer service.
Normally on the forum we hesitate to recommend investments, but I think in your case something like this would be suitable. There are five options to choose from and all available on HL.
