Transferring workplace pension from NEST

I've recently changed employer and am wanting to transfer my old workplace pension from Nest to Standard Life(where my new pension is). Standard Life said they would apply electronically to Nest and it should all be completed in a few weeks. Nest are asking for evidence of my identity to be posted to them and questions about my new provider. It seems that they are making it difficult for me to transfer it out. They know my identity as they have all my details and they know who the new provider is as they have contacted them. Is this normal?

Nest are asking for evidence of my identity to be posted to them and questions about my new provider. It seems that they are making it difficult for me to transfer it out.Unfortunatly, some of these smaller auto-enrolment schemes do make it harder. You get used to it.They know my identity as they have all my details and they know who the new provider is as they have contacted them. Is this normal? No it is not normal for providers to ask this but it is normal for nest.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -
Nest is the biggest auto enrollment provider there is.
It is normal for Nest. Basically it's part of their AML checks1 -
A transfer to your new employer's Standard Life Scheme should be simple...... Origo used by NEST and SL

But- To make sure we comply with regulations, we may ask you for additional information before you transfer out of Nest. And, in some cases, you might have to attend a scams awareness appointment with MoneyHelper.
