Hello there,
I thought that the state pension increase was due to take effect from Monday 8th April. My wife's state pension was paid on Tuesday and was still at the old rate. Is this correct?
Thanks for any thoughts.

Isn't her pension paid in arrears i.e. her next payment she factor in the increased rate?0

State Pension goes up from your first payday after the new tax year. As it's paid in arrears, the first increase you'll get is the week after that. ie I'm paid weekly every Wednesday so today (10 April) I still get the old rate. On Wed 17th I will get my first week at the new rate...1

MrsM gets hers next Monday and it is, as expected, 3 old + 1 new.0

Unless you are a pre 6/4/10 State Pensioner who opted for weekly (paid in advance) - first payment at new rate was on Monday 8th April.0

Just found the letter from HMRC notifying my wife of the pension increase. It says that the new rate takes effect from 10 April. Just missed it.0

Strange how myself and MrsM get completely different letters. Hers states the new weekly amount and the dates and amounts of the 3+1 and 4 new payments, mine simply states the new weekly amount.
