Finding my taxcode

Options
I retired some years ago and have made self-assesments before and since.  Just to verify all is well, I would like to see my current tax code, following various changes in income.  I cannot see it anywhere.  Advice says 'check your pay slip' (etc) whch is not helpful.  Am I missing something obvious when I log in to SA?  Communications from HMRC seem to change each year, as does the website and its navigation, which doesn't help.

My apologies if this is the dumbest question ever posed, butI've posed it anyway.

I did that with a friend today but finding the tax code isn't straightforward

I did find it in the end

Pension payers do (sometimes) issue payslips.

What tax code is your pension payer actually using?

    • Sign into Government Gateway
    • Select Pay As You Earn
    • Select Check current Tax Year
You then see all your income sources (you can edit / add / remove as appropriate), and those that are PAYE incomes show your respective Tax Code. Mine shows just one tax code, for my occupational pension. State pension and other income, e.g. savings interest, don't have a tax code as they aren't PAYE.
  • Thank you (pl).  I've just found it.  A click or two from the the PAYE current tax year.     Navigation on the site is rather bizarre, but that's another subject.
