  • The Provit letter is here.

Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Send it to Intrum, whatever you do don't be tempted to phone or E Mail them.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.
  • Thanks so much for all your help everyone. Ive had a letter back from resolvecall stating the account is closed. They said I may be contacted by another debt agency or Intrum in due course so I think I'll send the same letter to the registered address for Intrum as they haven't listed a mailing address on their letter.

Thanks again youve all been a great help!
  • I've had the same letter over the weekend regarding a Halifax debt that I know nothing about and in my old married surname.

I'm going to send them the prove it letter. Fingers crossed. Thanks to this post as otherwise I wouldnt know what to do.

What are the chances of them proving a debt that is so old you don't even remember it?

Just keep in mind that Resolvecall are just the monkey, they take instruction from the organ grinder, whoever owns the debt, their role is simply a collection tool, nothing more.

You will probably find they will just pass the account back to whoever bought the debt, Intrum/PRA Group or whoever it might be.

So you may be contacted again by another collector, or the debts owner, or it may be dropped like a hot stone, see what happens.
