Concerned I am being coerced off of the NHS register.

    The extractions were done by the private dentist who comes in twice a week. She will also be fitting my implants.

    That is OK providing the NHS dentist declined to do them for sound clinical reasons and not financial ones!

    Implants are not offered on the NHS in all but the most exceptional circumstances.

    If you have very broken down teeth that need a surgical extraction and are having implants fitted most dentists will prefer the implantologist to take the teeth out so they can preserve the maximum amount of bone and , very often, they will put in grafts and augmentation so there is as much bone and tissue to hold the implant in.
