Holiday pay being revoked and asked to payback 4 months later??

My OH works for a well know car company and is paid through an outside agency. Said agency have had a number of issues over the last few months and prominent members of staff have come and gone (alongside some ongoing investigations into fraud etc) - very juicy.
He has had inconsistent pay for coming up to 6 months now, often not paid overtime, underpaid on rates etc and all sorts of problems.
He finally had a meeting with the union representative this morning to discuss all grievances (as well as their horrendously unprofessional and quite frankly disrespectful communications) and the agency have somehow managed to share that he has 5 days holidays that he took last year that he should not have been paid for and needs to pay that back (roughly £340 or so)
They have said that the way to accrue holiday has changed (noone was told this) and when previously it was 'work 7 days and get 1 day holiday', this is no longer the case meaning the holidays taken are no longer valid. (The 5 days were taken at Christmas)
There is no clear date when the system changed, noone was update and noone signed a contract to agree to this - the agency kept blaming the previous members of staff (who agreed and signed off all holidays) and maintain that this money is still owed.
Advice???

Advice???Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
The union rep is going to be contacted and next steps made - was wanting to make sure thoughts were reasonable0
