We are now with Octopus, how does the seg payments work is it an additional payment to the fit. Thanks for your advice.

The fit is made up of a generation piece which is around 20p for every unit you generate, and a deemed export payment which is around 6.7p, and that is for half of the units you generate. 

So if you generate 1000kwh in a year you will earn
£200 (1000 x 20p) for generation and £33.50 (1000 x (6.7/2)) for deemed export.

You get this regardless of how much you export.

But if we took the view that you exported half of what you generate (as fit assumes) and you moved onto seg from octopus @15p, then you would now earn £200 for generation as before, but £75 from the seg part.

If you also had 10kwh of batteries you could charge them at 7.5p on intelligent octopus, and discharge them for 15p seg earning a theoretical 75p /day.
In reality it would be closer to 60p with round trip losses through the battery system, but even that could earn you an additional £220 a year... though you would have to buy the batteries and inverter obviously
