Hello- apologies this is rather boring but I’m after a non see through biscuit barrel/tin that doesn’t let the biscuits go soft. Last 4 barrels ive purchased have meant our biscuits going soft after 2 days. Any help much appreciated!

Your biscuits last two days? (Can't help you with a recommendation though sorry! As I've never needed them to last that long !)6

Do you have a moisture absorber in with the biscuits - traditional cracker tins have one in the lid.1

My mother had one with a moisture absorber in the lid but they don't seem to sell them now. You might have to look for a used one such as this:That one looks very worn but you might find others in better condition if you search on sites where people sell used/vintage goods.1

Leave biscuits in the packet and seal the top with sellotape.1

Biscuit barrels with lids with holes/perforations and moisture absorption capability (e.g. slica gel or similar in the lid) are rarer than hens teeth.
Saw one in John Lewis the other day but was £24 (shelf edge sticker was lower price of £12.50 but the till said otherwise). Emma Bridgwater Love Birds design... Would have bought it at £12.50 for our son who has barrel envy of the two ancient biscuit barrels we own. However other designs by same maker and at same price did not have the lid perforations... so go figure!1 -
We use a Kilner style jar and not had any issues with soft biscuits even after a week.1

Wasn't the Old Style tip to put a sugar cube in with the biscuits?Signature removed for peace of mind1

The best way to stop biscuits from going soft in a biscuit barrel? Eat them!!

If you look for the old make of tins too like Baretware (under vintage) they have them in. I have my late Nans one but not sure it still works as it should. Also, it's tiny, so you can definitely tell it was a treat back then not an everyday consumable. It just brings back memories of childhood for me.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July ££110.46/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Have you seen the OXO Pop Container? Looks very easy to use and is apparently very air tight0
