Good morning, it's fine at the moment here, but I think it might rain, there are clouds coming over.
Going to go down to a caravan site near York today, it's nice we were there last year. We packed the van up yesterday, so there's not much to do.
Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.

Good morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Scarlet (hope you have a great time in York).
The sun is shining here, but it's very 'blustery'.
I need to go in the garden, but the ground is still very wet.
Hope everyone has a good day. xx11 -
Hi all
Scarletribbons - safe travels, hope it’s not too windy for towing.Nice birthday lunch attended yesterday (though I didn’t taste much); campervan all given a clean bill of health and some minor repair sorted. Tried to mow the lawn and (petrol) mower wouldn’t start - will have a look at that today though it’s still under warranty.Squally and gusty here though not as bad as forecast in other areas.Might try and do some craft stuff, or at least some research and planning. Back to part time job tomrrow after the holidays.Happy Sunday

Morning all.
Scarletribbons - enjoy your time in York - I have only been there once.
AlwaysAllie - no mowing to do here - we only had a tiny lawn in the front garden - very sloped but it is no more - had to make the area safe for Mr F.
Sunny here but breezy - no rain forecast.
Two Church services today.

Hi everyone,
Have a lovely time in York, Scarlet, I've always loved it there, if it hadn't been a campus university I would have gone there but I didn't like it when I went for the interview. Instead I went to Bangor which is an integral part of the town and felt much more welcoming. Not to mention that I lost my purse when I went for my interview and a lovely person took it to the police station where she was told I was catching a train so she brought it to the station for me (it had my ticket in it).
We finished the loft and the storage unit is empty. Steve did most of the hard work, some of the boxes were too heavy for me. Hopefully it won't be such an onerous task for Laura and Chris to sort once we are gone now. We still have some stuff to get rid of but because it doesn't belong to us we can't just throw it. Steve used to record concerts for the youth music service and still has all their equipment, unfortunately the service has been decimated by cuts and is no longer the organisation it was. He has copies of all the concerts he recorded as well and wants then to go to some sort of archive but the feelers he's put out haven't yielded any results yet.
The family returns today and I can't wait. Hopefully Laura's flight will be ok but if it's cancelled they will have to come back in the car with Brian which won't be fun for them.
have a good day.11 -
Morning all - thanks to @Scarlet for starting us off. Have a wonder time in York, I hope that the weather is good to you.Theres been more overnight heavy winds and it's still blowing strongly, the good bit is that the skies are blue again. Lots of cloud but no rain yet. Theres zero chance of doing anything much in the garden, still can't cut the grass as the ground is sodden.I'm rooting out unwanted / unused crockery and glasses. I've got so many odd nibbles bowls which I hardly ever use so two chipped ones are in the bin and four others will be going into the CS bag which is lingering in my car boot. It'll be glasses next, specifically champagne flutes. Not that I habitually drink champagne so will wine glasses do the job just as well? I've got a bottle of Prosecco, one of Crėmant and two of proper champagne which have all been in the cupboard for a few years. As for dinner plates, I haven't used them for ten years as I have lovely big shallow bowls which I find perfect. I don't have any sort of table to eat from so plates are very unpractical for me. They're really nice M&S coupe ones which is why I've been reluctant to move the on, but now is the time. That means I'll be wrapping things up in newspaper today. Talking of which I've come across a stash of them dating from 2018 which is when my beloved DM first took I'll and I went down to look after her. A long weekend stay turned into three years. Ah well, it's in the past. I need to move on too.Since starting this the sky has darkened again, perhaps it will rain after all. I hope that everyone is warm, dry and doing well.11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Have a safe trip and fingers crossed the weather will improve for your stay.
We are having a bit of a respite from the weather just now and have blue sky and sun. Sadly the gusty winds are still with us and we have the pleasure of the rain returning at lunchtime, with thunder and lightening on the cards too!
No supermarket sweep with DS yesterday, that is earmarked for this morning. I'll don my running shoes in readiness!
Have a good day folks if you can and I hope the poorlies, getting better, sad or lonely are doing ok. Nice to have you back with us BELLA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -

Morning all, weather wise we have a bit of everything atm, sun, rain ,wind. It rained really hard last night and DGDs pitch is waterlogged so no football for her today, and the day is our own. Not sure if we'll go out anywhere. I've taken out a pork tenderloin fillet for tea but will have to rustle up a pud for DH.Scarlet, enjoy York,it's been years since we went there.Bella, good to see you back, and glad you have things sorted now.Time for another cuppa, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all! Not raining yet but windy as anything! I plan to get in the garden again and look at what needs potting on. I took all the moss that was growing round various plants yesterday and put them in one wide shallow pot i found on a skip to make a kind of Japanese type inspired thing [ I did put a water tray inside the bowl to trap water to keep it moist] s we'll see how that turns out. There's shepherds pie left for today but I fancy something with custard too, so baking is on the cards. There's rhubarb in the garden so maybe a rhubarb and custard cake or something...OH has shelved the idea of painting my greenhouse for now , until it's warmer he said, so yay for that. I think I'll persuade him to measure up for the goth box mark II instead...And we had the bill from the structura engineer last night via e-mail, he must have been doing his admin. I did try to understad what he wrote but it went way over my head.Bella, lovely to see you back, your jaunts sound fabulous, I am jealous! Deception Island loks lovely, if a bit terrifying re volcanoes. snoozer, sorry about your rent house. My parents let my grans house out after she died to someone who completely trashed it and did a runner locking two cats in there for over a week too. this is why I will never do that, it's too much hassle. Scarlet, have a great time! Allie, woop on the campavan passing it's exams! Gers, my sister is just getting round to doing the same things now, 9 years since my mother died and five since my father. It just takes as long as it takes both for grief and for impetus and for rationality. Although, there again, I have too much kitchen stuff in my own house because it's a comfort thing of sorts and I'm not ready to say tata to any of that yet either I think you should crack open a bottle, invite the neighbours that can come and use them one last time Izzy, every time you say little joint of beef, I want one...it's like Pavlovs butchery here...Rosy, it's because you said pud I want one too..have a nice relaxing day! Take care all, it is perfect kite flying weather though, so if you have one, take it for a spin...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...11
