Hi. Quick question, I hope! If two people apply for a joint mortgage, will each of them see supporting information and documents supplied by the other such as payslips, credit file, etc.? Or can that be kept confidential?

I can't speak for all brokers but post-submission we issue copies of factfind, application, illustration etc to all applicants, so the information therein is common. We wouldn't share bank statements, payslips etc between applicants if they came in separately.I am a mortgage broker. I personally wouldn't take a joint financial product like a mortgage with anyone who would be uncomfortable disclosing this type of information.

Yep I second that, applying for a joint mortgage is a huge financial commitment. I also wouldn't be happy to take one out with someone who was not being open and honest about their financial situation.4
