Not only earning money is useful, saving it is as well.  It might be worth heading over to the Energy section and taking a look at the Octopus Tracker thread to see if this would help you in reducing your energy bills. If you do switch to them, find a friend who can give you a referral code which will give both of you £50 credit.

I think the waiting list can vary depending on their demographic requirements. Someone with a phd may be an attractive option to them. Won't harm either way to get on the list. I got accepted within a couple of days, and some friends within a couple of weeks.

I don't have an iPad so I'm not able to help with that, the assistant doesn't work on my iPhone though.
