Finding lost Ford pension

My Husband worked for Ford for 4 years in the early 2000's. He has been trying to track down his pension for this time and has found the new name of the plan and the address of the offices. He sent a letter to them in February this year which we know has been received as we sent it recorded delivery. In this letter we gave the address of where he worked, dates, his full name, DOB and NI number and his contact details. He has not had anything back, not even acknowledgement of his enquiry. We can't find any other contact details for them to try and speak to or email them. Does anyone have any advice on next steps please?

His pension is as safe now as it was before he tried to track it down! He only wrote in February, and we've had Easter intervening, so it's unlikely that administrators have had time to deal with his letter yet - particularly with the tax year end looming and all the other quarter end issues pensions administrators have to deal with.

He's waited 20 years to do anything about reuniting himself with his pension, so just wait, however annoying that suggestion is. He knows the letter has been received.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

It may take a bit of digging for them to find anything.  Lots of schemes were changing from DB to DC and  so he might be in multiple old files that are hard to access so that's all going to take some time.

I was going to ask if the administrators were WTW but I suspect most administrators are the same.  I mention WTW as I have 3 employer schemes they administer.  2 are dealt with in super speedy fashion and the the 3rd normally takes me 6 months to get a reply.  Personally I'd give it another couple of weeks and try ringing whomever they are to see if there's anything they can give you over the phone - even if it's to admit there's a 6 month backlog.

Sorry don’t know who WTW are. We’ve tried looking for a phone number for the Ford pension company searching using the postal address but can’t find anything

I'm a Ford pensioner - worked there for 4yrs and left 40yrs ago.

Is the pension due to start paying soon?

I contacted Mercer using their web contact form as I approached 65 and heard nothing back, so left a fairly snotty Trustpilot review.  A lady from Mercer contacted me, said she would take care of it, and gave me her direct mobile number.   It still took a while - couple of months IIRC - but got there in the end.
