Dual sun Solar Panels

Hi.
I am currently considering installing solar panels on a house we are refurbishing and I wont lie I am a bit unsure about who to go with and what types of solar panels as, when i check online they say the best panels are Sunpower and Solar Evolution, but i just want solar panels that are going to last and that work. I have also seen there is a new solar panel called Dualsun and wondered if anyone new what these are like as these provide solar and water heating in the same panel?
Would these be better for me, I just really want to save money and do my bit for the environment.

Your goals are admirable but will require a tiny bit of research and perseverance to attain. To help, here are the brands I recommend based on reputation, longevity and better than average warranty support.

    Panels: Solarwatt/ Sunpower/ AEG/ Meyer Burger/ Panasonic/ REC/ Hyundai/ Q-Cells/ REA/ Sharp/ Eurener (budget)

Inverters: SolarEdge/ Enphase/ SMA/ Fronius or Victron with extended warranties as part of the quote.

It has become challenging to find installers who are willing to offer reputed brands since the Chinese brands have flooded the UK market with low end kit. Keep looking for an honest installer who will quote for the above and don't believe the any of the nonsense about equivalence. e.g. "these too are Tier 1 brands", "that's brand snobbery" etc.

  • Thank you, have you heard anything about the reliability and operation of the dualsun solar panels?

The name suggests a bi-facial panel. Other manufacturers do them as well. They are usually only viable if you have limited roof-space, as they are a lot more expensive than normal panels.

Yes, they are a French brand. Cheaper than Sunpower but not a bad option but I'm unsure of the warranty duration or after sale support - I have no direct experience with them and therefore can't recommend them. As NetExporter says, there are other bifacial panels available from the brands listed above.
