Zero Hour Contract Meeting Length and Pay Query

Hi, if my employer asks me to attend a meeting that they schedule for 2 hours, but then it only ends up taking 1 hour and we finish early, should I be paid for the 1 hour only or the 2 given that I’d blocked the time out for them and scheduled other commitments around it please? Often finding this kind of thing happens. Thank you

I would expect you get paid for the hours you actually work and I'm sure if the 2hr meeting actually ended up taking 4 hours you'd expect to be paid for the 4 hours not just the 2 that was planned.
Used to happen to us fairly often back in my call centre days where they'd overestimated call volumes and so send a load of people home when agents are sitting around with 10 minutes between calls. Was only ever paid for the hours worked unless we wanted to take the shortfall as "holiday"1 -
