Minimum wage

my partner’s employer recently advised that they would be getting a 3% pay rise from 1 April. However they are calculating the 3% increase on their hourly rate prior to the increase in National Minimum Wage so in effect the employer is giving them less than 3% as they are having to increase it anyway? Is that right?
Currently he gets 11.26ph

If its a 3% rise on the old amount they haven't actually told any lies. As long as the new amount is above or equal to the new NMW.

So the employer is offering £11.60 an hour? If so, that's a 3% increase on his current pay and above the National Living Wage of £11.44. So yes - nothing wrong there, other than disappointment on his part he won't apparently be getting both.
