Have a think about the lodger suggestion. You add council tax and utility costs into the rent. Easy Tax free money if you have room.cheexy said:
Regarding the lodger, I am a bit skeptical of the impact on my council tax and overall utility bill plus having an unknown person with baby and I may not be the wisest for now.mumtoomany said:Could you take in a lodger? I believe you can get several thousand pounds a year without it affecting your tax, £7500 rings a bell, but I may be wrong.
I will explore the surveys. I am very open to working from home around baby. I just don't know which sites to look for. If I could get more pointers, that would be really useful.
Regarding work have a look at the Civil Service Jobs website. Despite a lot of the reports regarding having to attend for a set percentage most Civil Service posts outside Whitehall are very flexible regardless of what is in the adverts. Great job benefits too, particularly for single parents.1
