How long does inhibition last as I have one and they keep renewing it every 5 years I had a citi card and was paying Regularly but then had a stroke. The debt keeps getting passed on and is now with Cabot finance. My health is really poor but the solicitor acting on their behalf said they won't accept the settlement figure I sent them can someone please advise as interest is charged and the debt is getting bigger. There's nothing on the paperwork which offeres a court appeal

Inhibitions (we're talking a Scottish method of a creditor restricting what you can do with your property before you settle their debt, for those confused) last 5 years, which is why they are being renewed every 5 years. As far as I know that can happen indefinitely while the debt exists, so it sounds like getting the debt settled is really what you're wanting to happen. The other board is probably better for that.0
