IMHO it may not look as sexy as an lcd but the picture quality will outshine almost all LCD's in SD, lets face it, by the time HD is available widely and freely these LCD's may have finally caught up in quality. Not alot of people are benefiting from their shiny new LCD's this Christmas and most will be trying to convince themselves the picture quality is as good as their old CRT.....its not.....FACT.....who dare be the first to agree;)

    Good spot BTW

  • I used to have the 28" version of the T5. It isn't bad at all. A bit light on features and only 1 scart is RGB but the picture was excellent.

We are on our second JCV 28in CRT TV - first one lasted 6 years. We paid £180 at Tesco about a year ago. They get a pretty good picture and if you don't mind a 'big' telly this set sounds good value. Although lcd tv prices are pretty tempting at the moment, I still think you have to pay for a good brand (eg Panasonic) to get a really good picture.

For anyone interested, 2 of the 3 scarts are RGB on this model

I agree with Doozer, the vast majority of LCD under £500 are worse for SD than CRT

I agree, having just bought a predecessor to this model off ebay for my parents. I have had an older JVC 32" since 2003 and the picture and sound quality (mine includes a rear mounted subwoofer) has been excellent. When my parents came to need a new tv i did have a look at LCD's but the SD picture quality was awful even on the more expensive models. So I checked out ebay and used 32" JVC's were going for between £40-£100. So I got one have have just installed it and they are very pleased. This will do to bridge the gap until LCD's deliver a decent picture.

Does not mention having no stand + It shows stand in the pic so it should do, especially as they are selling the exact same TV with a surround sound system for £350 and clearly states for that one "No stand supplie", and same for the 28" version, no stand when bought with the surround sound system
  • Could be tempted by this, thanks

We have a 26 inch JVC tv thats 13 years old now and still in use daily!!!
The picture quality is still pretty good aswell.
Its a shame JVC LCD/Plasma arnt as good :(
  • I really expected to log on 3 hours later and be bombarded by angry LCD owners......I am surprised......and its not an initiation for trouble :o
