That 84000 is 98000 when spread over 10 years as well.Although does the tax relief on the £84,000 (if purchased across multiple tax years) and annual revaluation not make it significantly more attractive?
With the big downside being the NPA.
I think I would do better to put the lump sum in a regular SSISA over 2 year between myself and my wife. Vanguard SNP500.
-The LISA looks better to me the more I look at it.
You don't get taxed on it when you have it as income in retirement.
-Extra pension contributions suffer from CPI +1.5% lies over time vs loosing the 40% by taking it out. Over 25 year, I work it out as far worse than taking the money out and investing in stocks if 9% over time is doable.0 -
@hugheskevi - thanks for your feedback on my comments. I do contribute to the LGPS AVC and we put more in there due to the tax free on way in and way out.1
