We just bought a load of electrical items from the sale and was wondering if we need to keep the boxes incase something goes wrong?

Im not sure if you do or not, depends on where you bought it from I suppose.
We keep all electrical and kitchen appliance boxes, they go up in the loft. Just incase.
But its something we have always done, and once a year I go up and sift through getting rid of the boxes of stuff we no longer have.
If you do decide to get rid, dont do as someone down my road did, I passed their recycling bin and neatly placed by the side was a huge box with Sony 40" TV all over it and another from an expensive dvd/surround sound system.
Talk about advertsing to burglars!0 -
Don't keep the box, but keep any bits and bats that come with it (accesories) as they all need to be returned with the item. Also keep any items which come free or at reduced price with the item as they need to be returned as well.
MORE IMPORTANTLY KEEP THE RECEIPTS!!!![DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

I would keep the boxes and shove them in the loft if you can0

if you have the room and you want to keep the box then by all means feel free. but the most important things to keep are the receipt (for your warranty/manufacturers guarantee) and the instruction manual (so you know how to work the item).know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

We bought a large LCD TV last year, and a few weeks later it died. Took it back in the box and the bloke said they have to pay around 40 quid for those boxes from the manufacture before they can return it.
Had a joke with him about how I would charge him £35 for the box and he accepted!
Walked out with an upgraded TV and a an extra 35 quid in my pocket!0 -
You dont need the boxes to return faulty goods.. If you were going to return something under a 30 day moneyback deal then you will need the packaging as a previous poster said they have to pay for the packageing0

I keep all my boxes, I boxed all the stuff i did not use anymore and put them on eday. some of it made more than i paid for it.
If you have the box it is easy to post.0
