Police Pension Challenge

Hi, so I’m hearing that the Leigh Day Pension challenge has been accepted and that people are beginning to get offers of compensation.
Is anybody aware of anyway you can still join a claim?
I didn’t join at the time because probably pretty stupidly of me I assumed if the changes made to the pension were deemed unlawful, everyone would be compensated, not just someone who brought a claim?

Compensated? You mean getting an even more generous pension payout. As I understand, the UK government added in remedy., I believe that is what you are talking about.
Eligible members can receive legacy pension scheme benefits or benefits equivalent to those available under the 2015 pension scheme for service between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2022 (the remedy period).
I believe, according to Leigh Day's website, they are still chasing the losses and awards relating to upset, hurt or distress this discrimination from the Employment Tribunal.

If you mean McCloud, your assumption is incorrect, and it would be a waste of time and money employing a law firm. Your scheme administrator should have more info, e.g.widds82 said:Hi, so I’m hearing that the Leigh Day Pension challenge has been accepted and that people are beginning to get offers of compensation. Is anybody aware of anyway you can still join a claim?

Hi. It depends why you want to join ‘a claim’. Irrespective of whether you were in the claim or not, your pension (if affected) will be remedied along with everyone else in the public sector. The only benefit that joining a claim brought is a small compensation amount that was awarded.widds82 said:Hi, so I’m hearing that the Leigh Day Pension challenge has been accepted and that people are beginning to get offers of compensation. Is anybody aware of anyway you can still join a claim?
