Hi, My mum was born in 1952 and therefore effected by the retirement age change which the government failed to inform women, of that period, about. However my mum has been in receipt of widows pension for the past 33 years does this mean she doesn't qualify for the government compensation as per todays report? any information is greatly appreciated.

There are no government compensations planned at all and frankly there wouldn't be anyway.5

No probs. Just wanted to ask the question. Regarding the age I just read it was women born in 1950s so was unaware it started in a specific year. Thanks for the information0

I was born in 52 and my pension was delayed almost 2 years but in all honesty I can remember knowing well in advance of my pension starting that my pension age was not 60.7

According to the definition on their website, from 6 April, 1950 to 5 April, 1960.XzavierWalnut said:I thought it was women born in 1953.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!2 -
Just to clear it up: every woman born after 6 April 1950 is affected by the Pensions Acts of 1995 and 2011. Including all newborn girls born in the UK today and the ones that will be born tomorrow and forever and ever amen.
The campaign group WASPI demanded the reversal of the 1995 and 2011 Acts for women born between 6 April 1950 and 5 April 1960.
Women born after 5 April 1960 are still affected by the changes. However in the eyes of WASPI they could get bent. They are universally considered to have no leg to stand on if they claim they were unaware of the changes and there is even less chance of them getting compo. (Even though it is perfectly possible that a woman who was 35 when her State Pension Age first went up from 60 could still have her head in the sand.)7
