Hello everyone,
I am in process of starting self managed dmp. I have joint account with my husband where we put money to pay all bills. Two of my debts which will be included in dmp are with bank I have joint account in (Halifax)
Can Halifax offset money from joint account against my debts?
Many thanks

In theory yes.
You should get yourself off the account, your defaults will affect him whilst you have joint accounts. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Thank you @Grumpelstiltskin. If I remove myself from joint account it will cease my financial association to my husband? All debt is in my name only. We don’t have a mortgage.
I don’t want to ruin his credit history.
Many thanks0 -
Remove your name before you stop paying the debts to the same provider. Or wreck OH's credit record. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
