    hi there :hello:
whats the deal on the memory foam in lidl please?
hubby bought our memory foam materess topper for christmas from bargain madness. it was £39.99 instead of £79.99.cheaper than the actuall materess[ there about £500.00 the full materess] and it does the job.we have had a fantastic sleep since having it and weve since been told that the memory foam materess itself that with them you only use the top of the matress anyway the first couple of inches so weve had quite a bargain.as you can tell ive tought him to be a fantastic MSE!!!:money: [also this was before christmas so you may get them cheaper now in sales!!]. merry christmas ad a happy new year!!

The amount you pay is the amount stated when you submit payment. If the code doesn't work, it won't work at this stage - they won't charge you more later. Save the payment confirmation page if you're worried.
This is not true, they can and will charge you the full amount if it is found the code was not specifically for you. Search for littlewoods threads on here and you will find that many people have been charged...

Theres was loads of problems 2 months back with Littlewoods, in fact it reached national media, on one side on trading standards said that they were at fault for accepting the codes, and another said it was fraud to use them if they were not given to you by them

Littlewoods has dropped its pursuit of internet shoppers who "abused" an online discount voucher.
  • when i ordered my daughters bed i used a £20 off voucher for going over a certain amount (like maybe £100?) an then used another voucher which i think was a percentage? the bed came fine and the only thing that did happen was that they did charge full price when they took the money straight away but then right below it on my statement they refunded the difference
to be honest im not too worried if they do take the full amount - i only saved like £2 something and as the matress was so cheap anyway lol ;)

just was waiting for a bargain matress to go under my daughters bed for when she has sleepovers as they like to push two together and all sleep in the one bed

    thanks for the heads up

I'm afraid that whoever told you this was wrong. It is true that only the top couple of inches are memory foam, however the rest of the mattress is also very important. The memory foam is only there to mould to the contours of your body and give you even support thus preventing any pressure points. memory foam doesn't give any bounce though, so you need a good supportive layer underneath the memory foam (if you use a topper on an old worn out mattress then is still won't give you support as it will sag where the mattress sags).

Many cheap memory foam products are cheap and nasty imports. These are often low density. Memory foam needs to be high density to work properly and to give you the correct support. The recommended density range is 60 to 70kg per m3. You can go as low as 55kg, or as high as 80kg depending on personal preference, but I wouldn't go outside that range.
