Hi all
Gers - I’m assuming the weather was wild and that you haven’t been partying?
Looks damp and misty here - I’m working most of the day. Yesterday went by in a blur of dog walks, shopping and cleaning…..LOTS of cleaning - some sadly neglected and some that I have realised DM can’t reach/see and DF doesn’t see (there’s a difference 🫢😂)…..looks like I’m on extra cleaning duties now.Hope everyone has a good day

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Gers
Car passed MOT, had to have one small job done, so not too bad. At least it will give me time to decide if I really need a car.
Looks like it's going to be a dry day so I might try and do a few jobs in the garden.
Bereavement café this week, not sure if I'll go.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Morning all
Dry here for now but some rain due later I have three people coming today and they want to have a walk around a local park / seafront and then look at some shops there is a really big art shop that Rupert likes to go in so I’m sure we will visit that as well Rupert is autistic and is a fantastic artist he has so much talent !
Dinner tonight will be salmon steaks roasted new potatoes and veg, DD is home so I’m sure she will cook. House is fairly tidy I just need to hoover before my guests come.
It seems that the melatonin has stopped working 😩 I only really had one good night on it and now it seems to be doing nothing, I will phone the Dr back next week if still no luck.
We took Rob out for a walk yesterday and stopped in the lakeside cafe for lunch, when I first had him he would cram his food into his mouth literally so that he almost could not breathe and it would be gone in seconds, I have found out that the lady who looked after him before me would let him do this and then give him half her lunch, I have slowly taught him to slow down with his food and never give him any of mine even if I have food left, he ate beautifully yesterday which was lovely to see, he also doesn’t grab for food anymore which he used to do, proud mother hen here 🤩
Nan hope you are still resting it’s the best way to recover xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off. We had light rain overnight but that didn't last and now we have blue sky and sunshine. Still mild but I keep hearing the S word mentioned for the weekend. No, I thought we had seen the last of that stuff!
Tuesday lunch is on hold until tomorrow as we have the hairdresser doing our rounds today. In my case at least my hair is in desperate need of a cut.
I managed a baby potter in the front garden yesterday but it made no impression and I am still dithering over what to have done out there. I am tempted to just have it all covered over and get more pots to brighten it up. The expense is what's putting me off!
I had a message yesterday afternoon saying SIL was back on the ward, awake but tired. She has a long road ahead with all the planned treatment and I am sure the stoma will take some getting used to.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Special hugs for NAN and DP1's dad. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all, rained most of the night but brightening up now.RR sounds like you're doing an excellent job with Rob and your other guests.AA got to admit some of the tasks in our house are getting harder to reach, & DH's dodgy hip means he can't help with those either. Yesterday I did a bit of clearing in the front garden and my hip is aching a bit todayI've taken some fish out of the freezer for tea, sea bass from the market but it was a different person who served me and I didn't realise until I got home that they hadn't filleted them - I like to be able to just slap them in a panYesterday I cleared out the cupboard where the internet and phone wires come in.They are coming next week to install full fibre now it's been fitted in our area. We won't have a tv package anymore but I'm hoping it'll be ok to stream with the superfast BB. We have got a portable aerial for the kitchen tv so can still get live tv for news etc. It should save us almost £50 a monthWishing you all a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Gers - I’m assuming the weather was wild and that you haven’t been partying?I wish I'd been partying. The wind got so wild last night and was raging all the way through to dawn. Now it's calm and still.I guess that everyone was late to the day, it's calm and still here too.Yesterday I really enjoyed my exercise class though didn't stay for the tea and biscuits afterwards, it's not really my 'thing' but will do it most times to be less anti-social. The rest of my day was spent starting to design a new Excel workbook for the next financial year - yes, a bit nerdy but I really like it. I've closed / opened different accounts over the current year that a lot of it is scoring out, it'll be good to have a nice clean one again.A wool wash was done yesterday and I managed to not shrink any more jumpers. DW was run too. The other day I made a huge pot of lentil and leek soup and then roasted peppers so my small DW got full with the bigger things. The invigilation meeting planned for today has been postponed until next week as the schoool has an inspection going on. Now my day is free!@SO - well done on the MOT, it's always a relief. As for the bereavement cafe, take it at your own pace, it'll become OK one day.@Ruby - what a great result with Rob, patience and caring always come through.Talking of shrinking jumpers - this morning I came across the lovely pink and now felted lambswool one which, for no good reason, I seem to have put back in the drawer. Does anyone have any ideas about what to do with it apart from chucking it in the textile collection bin?

Morning everyone
Red ruby - you should be proud of yourself, I bet Rob really enjoyed his day out with you.
Izzy - what a lovely surprise for you on Sunday, your cake sounds brilliant.
Silver Oldie - I hope you decide to try again x
Well I had little one last night to sleep as DD had to leave home at 7.30 this morning to go to a first aid course. She woke me at 6.15 this morning to tell me how excited she was as she's going to a friends birthday party after school, but at least her alarm hadn't gone off through the night. Also very excited because my niece picked her up to go to breakfast club at school...all in all a very exciting morning! Though I feel as if I could go back to sleep for a couple of hours. DD showed my sister in law and I how to do dads meds yesterday and I've got to do them myself this morning. Don't worry there are instructions on mams' kitchen wall.
Then I'll come home, carry on with a very long form I'm filling in and then work at lunchtime. I'll pick little one up from school, get her changed and then her party is just a short walk down the village. DD should be home before it finishes and will give me a lift back home.
Little one will have her phone with her in case her blood sugar alarm goes off and jelly babies and glucogel in case it is low and I will leave my number 'just in case.' I'm so pleased DD is letting her go to the things like parties without her as it makes her the same as the other children. She is really good at 'reading' her phone and knows what to do....not bad for just 5.
I'd better get going - hope evreyone has a good day x

Morning! dry, windy and cooler today. I did some planting out in the front garden yesterday so now my jungle of pots has reduced considerably, being less of a trip hazard ot me. I went to see Adam Frost giving a talk last night, interesting bloke, it's interesting to hear how people fall into things and push for things. I did, on the back of that, join a local gardening society, not at all because there are more talks coming up and you get a percentage off in the local garden centres...no... Out at lunch time with a friend for her birthday, I may buy something expensive, i may not, I can't promise because I'm a magpie..Then home to sow my seeds! i promise!! well, ok, I strongly suggest i might...Gers, how about some fingerless gloves/arm warmers like the cahsmere project or whatever it's called? Ruby, well done you and him! SO, totally understandable if you don't, but fear is good in small doses, not good in large. It is difficult to break out being isolated for so long, is there any other group that does something you like doing locally instead? walking, cooking, reading, cinema going etc...people are generally nice, no one, unless they're a psycopath wants to be horrible to anyone, keep that thought in your head Take care all, it's not a bad day apart from Gers wild night that is....[if only it had been THAT kind of wild night ]Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...7
