Lending stream/Credit report

Good evening
I have 3 defaults remaining - 1 With Virgin Media (Due to come away in Jan 2025)
emailed them my current issues at the time but not overly fussed about this one
the other 2 with Lending stream however - One comes off in May 2024 which is a couple of month away which I won't kick up a fuss about being so near.
The other one however was opened June 2017 and I had a letter "Important you should read this carefully DEFAULT NOTICE"
Served under section 87 (1)
This was dated 26th september 2017 so assumed around this time the default would of happened?
But checking my credit file it says default March 2019 around 16/18 months after I've defaulted which means its staying on until March 2025?
Everything was paid up in April 2021 as I went through a bad period regarding the sudden passing of my father and depression - Not a sob story just so nobody thinks I've wormed myway out

sorry, should of been more clearer, Am I correct in my thinking that it shouldn't be on my credit report and March 2019 default date is incorrect?0

Well that`s the thing about defaults, and default notices, creditors work to guidelines, not exact rules.
So the default need not always be placed straight away, although technically it should be, but it is entirely at the creditors discretion.
Having said that, you should make a complaint if your not happy about it, they may agree with you and backdate it, or they may stick to their guns, in which case you could escalate things to the FOS.
It costs nothing to make a complaint.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
