Can HMRC have you make a payment on account if they insist that you do simple assessment & refuse to accept a self assessment. I'm not there yet but it is getting closer every year.

A Simple Assessment bill should be paid by 31 January after the end of the tax year. Or 3 months after it was issued if the Simple Assessment was issued within 3 months of 31 January (or after 31 January) after the end of the tax year it relates to.0 -
Thank for that. It is not an issue at the moment but I think it may be for 25/26. The K code is already too large to deduct all the tax due, about half for 23/24, so it is getting close. I confess I do not like simple assessment as it is not simple at all & would much rather do the self assessment I used to do as at least that was correct. They can't even get my state pension right.
