So I'm looking to remortgage and the illustration shows the fixed rate price, followed by the price based on the lenders current SVR and then one final payment at the SVR rate but it's like £6k more than the normal SVR payment.....anyone have any idea why? I know sometimes there's like a closing the account fee etc but £6k more come on....
Surely the term should break the payments down more equally than that, I will obviously look to Remo after the fixed rate ends but if something happened and I did remain with this lender for the term how can they expect people to have an extra £6k to hand for the final payment.

Difficult to say without seeing the paperwork.
Is there a part that is interest only maybe?
Does the mortgage finish before the ERC?
It does sound odd.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Nope capital repayment not part and part. ERC's only payable for first 5 years whilst in the fixed rate. Only other fees listed are a £145 exit/discharge fee. Fixed rate £1436, variable based on current rate £2417 and one final payment of £8536.0
